Important Safety Notice for Electronic Keyboard CTK-710 Customers

Casio, Inc. is conducting a voluntary product recall of its electronic keyboard CTK-710 in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Due to a manufacturing defect, certain CTK-710 keyboards may present a smoke and/or fire hazard, which could result in serious injury or property damage. No reports of injuries have been received by Casio to date. Casio is aware of five incidents of overheating, including two incidents that resulted in a fire. There have been two reports of property damage.

The defect is limited to CTK-710 units with the following serial numbers: 7030001 - 7040400 and 7041901 - 7043500. The serial number is located inside the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. If the serial number of your CTK-710 is included in the recall or if your serial number is missing, please follow the directions below to obtain a free repair of your CTK-710. If the serial number of your CTK-710 is not within the range of serial numbers shown above, your CTK-710 is not included in this recall and no further action is required.

No other Casio keyboard products are affected by this recall.

Please do not return the unit to the retail store where it was purchased.

WHAT CASIO WILL DO:
Using the information you provide, Casio will arrange for UPS to deliver a box to your address (or the address where the CTK-710 is located, if different) with instructions on how to pack the unit. Once packed, at your option, you may drop off the package at a UPS store or arrange for a pick up by UPS for delivery to our repair center. All shipping costs will be paid by Casio. Within approximately 1 week following our receipt of the unit from you, we will ship to you your completely operational, repaired CTK-710 with an extended product warranty.
